Highlights of the Waco 40 Days for Life Closing Event (April 13, 2019). The location was Planned Parenthood Waco, 700 W Highway 6. This was a very cold and windy evening. Still, about 150 participated.
The first hour from 7 to 8 PM featured speeches from local leaders and prayer volunteers and a reenactment of a Jericho March. The speakers were Deborah McGregor, CEO of Care Net Pregnancy Center; Aine Fitzgerald, Campaign Leader for 40 Days for Life Waco; John Pisciotta, Director of Pro-Life Waco; and Rev. John Palmer, Pastor of Waco First Assembly of God.
Father Robert Verrill led 7 laps around Planned Parenthood blowing the Shofar horn with an amazing level of skill. Father Verrill is from Britain and is a graduate student at Baylor and a pastoral assistant at the Catholic Student Center at Baylor.
Then at dusk we began a candlelight vigil featuring hymns and personal testimonies about experiences participating in 2019 Waco 40 Days for Life.
We estimate that 500 prayed at 40 Days Waco in 2019. Waco is one of 377 cities in 30 countries that delivered a 40 Days for Life prayer vigil during Lent of 2019.
